Mackay State High School Interact Club
Our Mackay State High School Interact Club had its first official meeting this week.
Interact focuses on developing young people’s leadership skills and making a difference in their communities and the world. This small, but enthusiastic group of Year 8 students have committed to running projects each term, starting in Term 2.
Meetings are held each second Wednesday, starting again in Week 1, Term 2. Student of all grades are welcome to join and contribute to club activities.
The first project that will kick off next term will be ‘Recycle for sight.’ For this project, members of the wider school community will be encouraged to donate their no longer used prescription glasses. Once collected, these glasses are sent away to be refurbished, and ultimately given to those less fortunate overseas. More details about how to support this project to come.
